Belinda’s Limeade
My precious sister-in-law’s recipe. We really love this drink with Mexican food.

3 limes
1 cup sugar
2-1/2 cups water
Carbonated water
(about a liter)

Cut limes in half and juice them. (There should be about 1/2 cup juice) Reserve rinds. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves. Cool, then chill. Add lime juice to cooled sugar syrup.

For each serving, fill glass with ice. Pour halfway full with carbonated water. Pour lime-sugar mixture in glasses to fill. Place a maraschino cherry into each lime rind and float on top. Serve with a smile.

For a big batch:
2 cups lime juice (about 15 limes)
4 cups sugar
10 cups water
10 cups carbonated water
