The addition of these apples increases the interest and ‘comfort factor’ of oatmeal or pancakes. Slicing various types of unpeeled apples makes an attractive multi-colored side dish for any meal.

Sauteed Apples

2 medium-sized apples
2 T. butter
2 T. brown sugar
Juice from half an orange or lemon

.Slice or dice the apples; (peeling is optional). Melt butter in a skillet. Add brown sugar; stir to blend. Add apples; stir to coat. Cook and stir over medium heat five to eight minutes, until apples are lightly browned. Add the orange or lemon juice. Cook and stir one to two more minutes, until juice is reduced.
